About Us
The National Volunteer Corps programme was established as a project in 2009 by the government of Lesotho along with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a key partner. The NVC Programme is dedicated to;
- Promoting Patriotism amongst youth.
- Enhancing employability
- Improving youth development and national engagement
The NVC offers various options for partners to become involved in the project: Organisations can become a host partner by housing volunteers within the organisation and contributing financially to the volunteer monthly stipend.

The programme aligns with the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) II (2018/19 – 2022/23), National Youth Policy 2017 – 2030 which is also in line with international youth conventions and protocols on development (Lesotho NYP, 2017- 2030).
Mission
Our mission is to work towards the healthy and well developed population of Lesotho by creating two years` work placement for young graduate’s men and women between 18-35 years.
Vision
To be a professional and youth oriented programme, contributing to a future where young men and women of Lesotho become agents of change who are economically empowered and socially responsible and healthy citizens.
