What is the National Volunteer Corps (NVC)?

The NVC is a government initiative under the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports and Social Development that recruits unemployed graduates (ages 18–35) and places them in Host Organizations for a 2-year volunteer service.

Who is eligible to apply as a volunteer?

Applicant must: Be Mosotho citizens aged 18–35, Hold a diploma or degree from a recognized institution, and Be currently unemployed

Do volunteers get paid?

Volunteers receive a monthly stipend provided by the government to support their basic needs during the placement.

What are Host Organizations?

Host Organizations are institutions or entities where volunteers are placed to gain hands-on experience. These may include government departments, NGOs, schools, health facilities, and community organizations.

How can my organization become a Host?

Organizations can apply online through the NVC website. They must be legally registered, provide a safe work environment, and assign a supervisor to guide the volunteer.
